WE NEED A FAIRER HOUSING SYSTEM

While young people in Brunswick struggle to pay rent, or save for a deposit, investors and property developers are getting richer.

It doesn't have to be this way. Governments should make sure there is enough affordable housing for everyone, and renters should be protected so they can enjoy a better standard of living.

Everyone can have an affordable home. But to make that happen Victoria needs to build more homes, introduce more protections for renters, and stop investors making huge profits.

The Greens are leading the charge in Parliament.

We are advocating for:

  • Building more affordable housing
  • Controls on rent increases, so rents are more affordable
  • Cooling standards and insulation for rental homes
  • An end to unfair housing tax breaks for wealthy investors and property developers

When the government feels the pressure from the community, as well as the Greens in parliament, we can achieve big steps forward.

Join the campaign to be part of pushing the government to make housing fairer.

WE NEED A FAIRER HOUSING SYSTEM

TAKE ACTION

Fairer housing.

Everyone should be able to afford a place that feels like home.

This bill will give authorities new, broad search and seizure powers, and discretion to restrict free movement in our forests based merely on suspicion that someone may commit an offence in the future. Plus, peaceful...

Brunswick Survey Response: Fixing Victoria's Healthcare System

In a year with federal and state elections and with a big increase in healthcare spending, we should talk about how we could improve our health system, so it’s not always struggling to cope. That’s why I asked people in my electorate to tell me about their personal experiences with...

Why isn’t it fixed yet?

Making Sydney Road a more inviting place to ride a bike would improve north-south trips for people who already ride, and hopefully encourage more people to travel by bike.  I was recently asked about the work I’ve done on Sydney Rd, and where this issue was up to. This is...
